Mail is one of the earliest Internet services, and still one of
the most requested.
Numerous documents and protocols govern mail operation.
Some RFCs detail the format of mail messages themselves -
the syntax and organization of header and body items.
Others detail a variety of mail transfer protocols
used for mail delivery. The Encyclopedia's software section
